  • Remote Learning Policy

    Thu 14 Jan 2021 A Butt
    Hello everyone!

I hope you are all managing to stay safe and sane during these very difficult times.
Staff have been working very hard to keep both learning and well being at the centre of everything that we are currently doing. I know the situation we find ourselves in is far from ideal, however I have been very proud of all of our efforts!

I know you are doing a great job supporting the children at home with their 'home learning' and by following the direction of the teachers through both the hard copy packs and the complimentary ClassDojo platform. Well done and thank you for this! Most classes are reporting a very high uptake of learning and as much as 90%+

Please find attached our Remote Learning Policy.

In the Appendices, the 'top tips' for home learning and 'Think Like an Eldon Learner at Home' documents are particularly useful (Appendix 3a/3b). The teachers will be referring to these.

Staff are feeling very excited about launching some 'live sessions' which are going to be a chance to say hello on zoom. These are to promote well being and a some learning too. We want to aim to do a couple of sessions per week and see how these develop. Staff will be timetabling their 'live sessions' and then there are no clashes between their timings, if you have more than one child at home.

Please could you read the attached letter in Appendix 4 which will help you for these sessions.

Many thanks for your support as always!
  • ClassDojo - Learning Platform

    Fri 08 Jan 2021 A Butt
Staff have planned learning which will be delivered through ClassDojo. The children have been using this platform to do their Homework since September. Hard copy packs, pencils and books have been hand delivered to all families. These packs complement the 'remote learning' which is being taught by  the teachers. Our Remote Learning Policy is being updated as we speak. This can be viewed under the 'Polices' section.
  • Hooray It's Friday!

    Fri 08 Jan 2021 A Butt
    Hooray It's Friday!

We have reached the end of a very LONG and challenging week!
I wanted to thank our staff, parents, children and Governors for helping us get there.
School may be closed to the vast majority of children but my dedicated team have tried their very best to prioritise the learning for all! Those of critical workers and vulnerable pupils in school and those working their socks off at home too!
    Enjoy the weekend everyone!
  • Free Mobile Phone Data

    Wed 06 Jan 2021 A Butt
One of our very thoughtful parents wanted to share this very helpful information:

Schools and families can request free mobile data increases for students without broadband and/or who can't afford extra data for devices.

Three, Smarty, Virgin Mobile, EE, Tesco Mobile & Sky Mobile are all taking part in the scheme.

  • Free School Meals During Lockdown

    Wed 06 Jan 2021 A Butt
Important Update on Free School Meals Entitlement over this Lockdown period

Families who are entitled to FSM should know that the vouchers are not being given out during this lockdown. Families will be provided with food parcels which will need to be collected for each Monday and these will be for the week.
If your child is entitled to FSM Please can you reply to this post and then we can make the food order for next Monday.

Can I let you know that this post is to do with the FSM entitlement and has nothing to do with the Foodshare bags that we give out on a Tuesday. Many thanks.

If your child is attending school from tomorrow, as part of a key worker/vulnerable criteria, then he/ she will be provided with a hot meal whilst in school therefore he/she will not qualify for a food bag.
  • Parental Survey - School Places following Lockdown

    Tue 05 Jan 2021 A Butt
Following the Government announcement yesterday instructing all schools to close for the vast majority of pupils and to move to 'remote learning' we have devised this survey for parents to complete as a matter of urgency.
Please access the survey on your child's Class page. This will be going live within the next 5 minutes.
The survey will help us to determine who NEEDS to access school, as we are open for key worker and vulnerable children /families. All parents will need to complete the survey.
For all of our children who will have to access home learning once again, your teachers are working hard to prepare lessons which will go live from tomorrow morning. Hard packs and books are being made up and these will be delivered to you over the next few days. I the meantime please get your work stations ready for some FUN learning!
  • Government announcement: Lockdown

    Mon 04 Jan 2021 A Butt
Following the Prime Minister's announcement tonight unfortunately school will be closed for all pupils tomorrow Tuesday 5th January to allow staff to prepare for remote learning, vulnerable and key worker provision from Wednesday 6th January.
Details for key workers, vulnerable pupils and remote learning will be circulated by this platform tomorrow. A survey, similar to the one we completed in March will go live by midday tomorrow. This is so that the learning provision can be matched to the criteria which has been specified.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
