  • Eldon is up for Three National Awards!

    As a HUGE thank you to staff and pupils for their hard work thus far, this year,  oh and three national award nominations Tes Awards 2021 (English Team & Science Team), and The National TeachingAwards (Digital Innovator)... an ice cream is a well deserved treat!   • Super Learning Day - What do you want to be when you grow up?

    Eldon's Super Learning Day was a HIT! 

    Our annual theme of 'What do you want to be when you grow up?' really got our children thinking! From world class athletes, actors, bakers, first aid experts, dentists, gardeners, police officers, entomologists to business men/women and cafe owners ... our children have been inspired to reach for the stars! 

  • Coronavirus Pandemic City Hero Award

    This week we had a visit from the Mayor who awarded us with the “Coronavirus Pandemic City Hero Award”. This is in honour of the Food Parcels that have been distributed every Tuesday since 8th December 2020. Miss Tomlinson’s amazing efforts have meant we have distributed just under 600 food bags and 70 families have accessed at least 1 bag during this time. An incredible achievement to be proud of.

  • Royal Preston Hospital Project for the Dementia Ward

    Our Royal Preston Hospital Project for the Dementia Ward has gone very well indeed. The art work is ready and the sound is now been fitted too. Do take a look at the school’s twitter feed and see the project. It looks and sounds stunning!

  • Pyjamarama Book Event day...

    Pyjamarama Book Event day went very well! Children attended school in their pyjama’s for the day and took part in lots of reading events. Money was also raised for ‘The Book Trust’. Our Chair Martin, and Vice Chair of Governors, Sue, both zoomed into classes virtually to read to the children. Two of our parents and carer’s also did the same. Children enjoyed a relaxed day, learning, reading and having fun!

  • We have been shortlisted for two National TES Awards!

    How fabulous to find out that we have been shortlisted for two National TES Awards! English Team of the Year and Science, Technology and Engineering Team of the Year! Winners will be announced on 25th June and in the meantime we will be continuing the fabulous learning to ensure we enjoy our learning and share it with our community.

    Royal Preston Hospital Art Project for the Dementia Ward Eldon is proud to take part in this competition. Please take a look on twitter for the images of the famous landmarks our children have depicted! Well done everyone and Miss Pearson! Mr Aspinall has co-ordinated some familiar sounds to complement the art work. Fingers crossed our art work gets chosen!

  • The Pyjamarama Book Event!

    The Pyjamarama Book Event! 14th May 2021 We are taking part in the Book Trust Pyjamarama Book Event! Children are allowed to come to school in their pyjamas for the day and participate in a variety of reading book events. A donation of £1 will be gratefully received. This money will go towards The Book Trust. For more details please refer to the separate post on ClassDojo.

  • To celebrate our 135th year of the school’s existence...

    To celebrate our 135th year of the school’s existence, we are also having a ‘mile a day’ track built on the land adjacent to The Burrow. Works will commence in a few weeks time and we hope to hold our spots day there too. Alongside this, we are hoping to create and publish a list of 135 experiences which children in school can take part in. I would love to have your ideas too! Please share these on ClassDojo.
