Anti- Bullying Week - Make a Noise About Bullying!
Fri 17 Nov 2023Children and staff had five days of learning about Anti-Bullying Week! The week started off with 'odd socks day' when everyone was able to demonstrate that they are unique. Year 6 and Year 3 led a play 'No Laughing Matter' for the whole school on Tuesday. As well as re-viewing our Children's Anti-Bullying Policy, the children learned about mindfulness and practiced Happy Breathing on Wednesday. Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors (ABA) led the way with their assembly sharing key learning for the week. What children should do and how they can 'make a noise' about bullying. We even created our own 'Anti-Bullying' sign.

Diwali Celebrations!
Mon 13 Nov 2023Diwali, 'the festival of light' was celebrated by Reception and Year 4 pupils. As well as learning about the story of Rama and Sita, pupils decorated Eldon House, dressed up in traditional attire, learned how to stick dance, made mendhi patterns on their hands and made rangoli patterns on the ground... all with the support of our our Eldon Expert Eesha (Yr1), Sahishna (Yr4), teachers, staff and our Hindu families! Thank you everyone!

Attendance is flying high at Eldon!
Fri 10 Nov 202387% of our children have an attendance of 95% or better! The children enjoyed watching Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile at Blackburn Vue Cinema!
Our whole school attendance is 95.4% and rising! This is better than the national average, currently.
Well done everyone, keep up the great attendance!

Remembrance Service
Fri 10 Nov 2023Infant and Junior children paid their respects by recreating the Remembrance Service to honour those hero's who dies in the World Wars.
Our PSHE and History Ambassadors led the service. Our outdoor TV screen displayed the names of the local Plungington heroes.
Mrs Seddon (Eldon's Elder) concluded the service with "When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today."

Eldon's Debate Team are local winners!

Life Education our Us!
Fri 03 Nov 2023A fabulous two days of life skills enabled children from our Nursery to Year 6 learn about keeping our bodies healthy! Internet safety, smoking and drugs were also a large part of the input from Lancashire's Life Education.

Happy Halloween Disco
Fri 03 Nov 2023Our children enjoyed their Halloween Disco whilst dressing up, dancing and frightening each other! A total of £300 was raised by The Friends of Eldon!

Sparkling all the way to Eldon Forest!
Fri 03 Nov 2023Reception children wearing their outdoor clothing engaged in some field work and explored Eldon Forest for signs of autumn! They took advantage of the outdoors and experienced a live fire and some sparklers in time for Bonfire Night!
