Come and join 'The Friends of Eldon!'

Our Learning Mentor Mr Cotterill hosts a coffee morning every Tuesday at 10.00a.m at Eldon House! Come and join us for a hot drink and a  chat. Everyone is welcome! The Friends of Eldon help us to plan next steps for the school including fund raising activities and community events. 

Parent and Child Workshops! 

Look out for the weekly parent and child learning opportunities being held at Eldon from September 2023! 

Workshops include the following: Early Reading, Phonics, Mathematics, History Detectives and Forest Schools! Look out for the details on ClassDojo!

Parent and Toddler Sessions 

These are held every Wednesday morning from 9.10a.m - 10.10a.m. 

Our EYFS staff lead these and everyone is welcome! 

Bring your baby's and toddlers for a fun session of play in the school hall!

Eldon's World Book Day Celebrations - You are a Reader!

Eldon are excited to welcome back award winning National Literacy Hero Richard O'Neill. We will be developing our writer's craft by working collectively from Nursery to Year 6 to create a story based on the history of Eldon. Watch out for 'ELDON'S BIG READ'! Our children's published stories will be hanging on the fence for our Eldon community to read and share together! 

Eldon's Food Bank February 2022 

Our  fabulous 'Friends of Eldon' are starting up the food bank once again!

Volunteers, parents and grand parents are rallying around to sort and distribute food to any families that need a 'top up' during these tricky times! Food will be distributed from Eldon House from Tuesday 8th February! Watch out for more information on our internal ClassDojo platform! 

National Storytelling Week! February 2022

The HM Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Celebrations! February 2022

Volunteers, parents and Governors joined the school to put together a fabulous day of celebrations to mark the start of The Queen's 70 years reign! 

National Food Breakfast Programme

From January 2022, Eldon is once again able to apply for funding to ensure more children are able to access our daily Breakfast Club. 

Bagels, cereal, fruit and milk are available from 8.00a.m. onwards. 

Children have the opportunity to socialise and participate in games with their peers, before learning time resumes at 8.50a.m.

Develop your knowledge on how children are taught phonics and early reading skills. Explore a range of activities and ideas to do with their child to support reading at home. Learn something new and have fun developing your skill

Fun with phonics – 18.11.21

Learn how Foundation and Reception children are taught to read, spell and write using phonics. Explore fun resources to help your child learn at home. Learn something new and have fun developing your skills

STEM Club – 23.11.21, 3.12.21

You will use science, technology, engineering and math's to tackle tasks and challenges – Working with your child to problem solve, design, create and have fun.
