Admission Arrangements for Eldon Primary School

As a maintained primary school Lancashire County Council administers our admissions and full details of the criteria and policy can be found at the link below.

Admissions to Reception Class

Parents may register an interest with the school and as such will receive notification of the admissions timescales and link to the e-form. The online application process opens in the September prior to a child starting school and all online applications must be submitted before the 15th January. LCC will then send out notification letters to parents in April. Any pupils who are not happy with their offer may appeal and full details are provided by LCC.

The selection and oversubscription are managed by LCC as they are our admissions authority.

In Year Admissions

Children moving into the area can be admitted at any time in the school year, by arrangement with the Headteacher. This is dependent on a place being available in the required year group.

Children are normally admitted to the Reception class at the beginning of the academic year in which they are five.

Where there is not an available place, please contact the Lancashire In Year Admissions team.

The number of places available for admission to Reception in the year 2024 will be a maximum of 30.

The number of children on school roll is 250.

It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure their legal application is submitted before the deadline to the Local Authority.

If you have any questions regarding school admissions please contact Munisha Patel (School Business Manager) in the school office on 01772 253557.
